Hello again!
Travel Team 2 Update Day 3:
* water delivered at 10am. * visited Miguel (local widower that Father Charles was asked to check in on)--hired him to help with the construction for $10 US/day (500 gouds) * Sherriff Liuan was put to work too helping out with the day's build * Locals taught the team to make concrete way more effectively on the ground instead of in buckets * foundation for 5th tap station was started * several photos were taken to document the day * many local people say they will probably work to reproduce the techniques they are learning. * one boy commented on how "belle" (beautiful) the cisterns were. * outside of the 4th cistern is plastered * tap station final plans & preparation done and re-bar cut * removed octagon from 3rd cistern & restructured it with pin system for 5th cistern. The foundation was laid and it was stuffed. * Left To Do: last cistern build (outside plaster), attach 1st flush systems, plaster insides last 2 cisterns, pour last tap station
All in all, a pretty successful day. Getting the local people involved proved to be educational for everyone involved and made the day's work go incredibly efficiently.
Best,
Andrew
